AccessBuilder 7000 2 PRI/US Interface Modules.
The PRI Interface Module is a key component of the AccessBuilder 7000 Access Concentrator system, which provides complete central site connectivity solutions based on the Integrated Service Digital Network (ISDN) and the Public Telephone Switched Network (PTSN) via serial WAN links and Ethernet LAN connectivity. A typical use of the AccessBuilder 7000 Access Concentrator is to connect a central site to many remote branch offices or home workers using ISDN.
The PRI Interface Module manages any ISDN calls that are made to or from any other primary rate modules installed in the AccessBuilder 7000 Access Concentrator chassis. At present these are the PRI Bridge/Router Module and the PRI TA Module.
Incoming ISDN calls are initially registered with the PRI Interface Module before they are distributed to the correct destination module which is housed within the AccessBuilder 7000, based onm the configuration of the PRI Interface Module. Outgoing ISDN primary rate calls are passed from the PRI Bridge/Router or PRI TA module to the PRI Interface Module to be routed onto the ISDN.
