CommServer 3100 0 Ports with Floppy Disk Drive
CS/3000 & CS/3100 Terminal Servers
Our CS/3000 and CS/3100 products set the standard for
top-performance multiprotocol terminal servers. Their high port density and
extensive multiprotocol support provide the ideal solution if you’re looking for
an economical way to connect a large number of devices to diverse hosts. In
fact, the CS/3000 and CS/3100 offer a lower price per port than any other 3Com
terminal server. Both servers support TCP/IP (Transmission Control
Protocol/Internet Protocol), LAT, TN3270, and OSI (Open Systems Interconnect)
standards. And both are supported by 3Com’s Transcend® Remote Boot and
Configuration Services Version 2.1 software, which provides a powerful,
standards-based environment for central booting and configuration. By enabling
you to boot and configure multiple devices from one location, Transcend Remote
Boot and Configuration Services software saves you time and effort when managing
large or complex terminal server networks. In sum, the CS/3000 and CS/3100
provide a rich set of features that add up to savings in connection costs, as
well as time spent on administration and use.
• Multiprotocol connections for up to 48 ports let you link an
extensive array of RS-232 asynchronous devices, with partial modem support
• Support for up to eight concurrent sessions per port (subject
to total system limitations) provides easy access to multiple hosts
• RS-423 signal support allows terminal connections at distances
up to 1000 feet (305 meters), facilitating connectivity throughout your campus
• Robust implementation of TN3270 supports Ethernet TCP/IP
network connections to IBM SNA hosts
• Support for the Serial Line Internet Protocol (SLIP) and the
Point-to-Point Protocol (PPP) enables dial-up access to TCP/IP resources
