CoreBuilder 5000 ATM Aggregator Downlink Module
New Module Support
DMM Version v4.10 added support for the following previously-unsupported 3Com
modules:
o ONcore LAN-to-ATM SwitchModule Support -- ONcore ATM Backbone SwitchModule
is a dual-slot module that translates packet-switched network frames to
ATM-based cells. The module uses LEC (LAN Emulation Client) capabilities to
provide ATM backbone connectivity for ONcore virtual bridges. The ATM
SwitchModule supports 64 LECs (virtual ports).
The ATM Backbone SwitchModule works in tandem with the ONcore SwitchModule.
o ONcore Shared-100 Ethernet Module ONcore 100BASE-TX Workgroup FastModule
(Model Number 3C96512M-TX) Support -- The single-slot 12-port 100BASE-TX
Workgroup FastModule provides 12 RJ-45 connectors that let you connect network
devices to fast Ethernet LANs using unshielded or shielded twisted-pair cabling,
reducing traffic conjestion.
o ONcore FastModule BPAONcore Downlink FastModule Support -- The ONcore
Downlink FastModule is a 2-slot ONcore module that consists of a main module and
a mated option module. The BPA main module provides one 100 MB FX port
connection to all four ONcore backplane ONcore backplane Ethernet Channels. The
BPA is shipped with any of the BPA three option modules:
