Key Benefits:
OfficeConnect Advantages
Simplicity distinguishes every aspect of the OfficeConnect family. Whether it's fast installation, ease of use and administration, space-saving design, expandability, or cost-effectiveness, OfficeConnect makes advanced network technology effortless and affordable for small businesses and offices.
Quick Installation
OfficeConnect products are designed to facilitate fast installation. To install an OfficeConnect hub, for instance, you simply plug a twisted-pair cable from each PC into one of the hub's eight RJ45 ports then power it on. Configuration of popular PC or network operating systems such as Windows® 95 or Novell® NetWare® is equally simple. For the OfficeConnect Print and Fax servers, installation is just a matter of connecting the appropriate network cables and then completing a brief software configuration process.
Easy Operation and Administration
Once in place, the OfficeConnect units require minimal attention. Depending on the particular model, various front-panel LEDs provide a quick view of network status; for example, the hubs include a Network Utilization LED display. In addition, all OfficeConnect products feature a unique Alert that enables the untrained user to quickly identify network problems. These clear, self-explanatory indicators require no special expertise to be understood. On the Hub 8 /TPM, the Alert LED can even be configured to track one of several conditions, such as port partitions or error levels. If the environment demands advanced management, the Hub/8TPM includes Transcend Quick Configuration Manager for Windows software. This graphical system functions through the hub's serial port and allows detailed monitoring and control of network performance and security. For example, it permits you to configure IP information, enable or disable ports, specify a backup connection, or monitor other devices on your network. This hub is also fully manageable using SNMP from any Transcend management platform.
Compact Size
The OfficeConnect family is designed to best accommodate the space limitations of smaller environments. Not much bigger than a videotape cassette, these units can be stacked in a desktop corner or mounted on a wall.
Trouble-Free Network Expansion
The OfficeConnect models can be interconnected using either a thin Ethernet (10BASE-2) or twisted-pair (10BASE-T) cable, ensuring outstanding scalability. And when it comes time to incorporate Internet access or networks at other locations, the OfficeConnect Remote units offer the speed and reliability of ISDN data transmission, along with the option of voice or fax communications over the same line.
Real Economy
Each OfficeConnect product carefully balances functionality and price to provide sensible choices for budget-conscious businesses. The three OfficeConnect hubs offer a range of features and costs to meet the particular needs of any organization. In the case of the OfficeConnect Print Server, multi-ple users can share the power of an expensive printer. And the OfficeConnect Remote monitors activity and automatically takes down or brings up the ISDN connection as needed-effectively controlling telephone charges. OfficeConnect Advantages Simplicity distinguishes every aspect of the OfficeConnect family. Whether it's fast installation, ease of use and administration, space-saving design, expandability, or cost-effectiveness, OfficeConnect makes advanced network technology effortless and affordable for small businesses and offices.
